[古典] Rheinberger – Two Concertos for Organ and Orchestra – Vocalion 2017 |
Ihave for so long been an admirer of this set of 2 Organ Concertos; firstrecorded in 1973 under the 'Columbia' label and nla (until now!) Also, because of the superb artistry of E Power Biggs; whose 1960-70's Bach organ interpretations live on still under CBS & Sony labels, in very fine remastered ADD sound. Beforehand, I had to rely on either the 2 excellent, modern DDD recordings on the 'Naxos' label - or else the "Classico" label's rendering, with Ulrik Spang-Hanssen as soloist. However, I wanted to acquire the thrilling Power-Biggs recording, which has eluded any back-catalogue reissue from Sony ..until now (tho' they have released, in 24-bit, Bigg's 1959 Handel Organ Concertos works - and in amazing sound for the period.) My only option had been to acquire the 2010 "Klassic Haus" private recording from the USA - but its sound qualities were, to my ear, somewhat 'wooly.' The Dutton ADD rendering arrived today, with both FAR more sonic finesse and a subtler, re-mastered, Sony trademarked, SA-CD sound. It's playable on standard CD players too. Furthermore, this CD has been re-issued under licence from Sony, and it comes complete with CBS' original 1973 LP sleeve notes and cover art, inside the booklet. 曲目: Concerto in F major for organ, string orchestra and three horns, Op. 137 1i Maestoso 2ii Andante 3iii Con moto N.B.
