It's the only appearance on Venus for this Japanese pianist and the tunes showcase this trio in fine fashion. In style, Yamamoto is fairly conventional and the choice of tunes are nice enough, if nothing exciting. 'Cool Strutting' and 'Doxy' have a fine bluesy approach, with the bassist taking the head on the opening of the latter.
